When you come into the office we will put a wristband on your wrist and punch a star in the wrist band.
(Star will be punched over the first hole closest to the London Olympic logo)

While in for your appointment, ask the assistant for another wristband to give to a friend.
Let’s see how many people we can get to wear the wristbands and join us in the British Invasion.
When you come back into the office for your next appointment or bring a friend for a wristband we will
cut off your wristband and write your name on it and enter your wristband into our drawing for the Kindle Fire and $100.00 gift card to Amazon.com.
**Only patients of Dr. Thalgott’s are eligible to win the prize. You need to be a patient of record to have your wristband entered in our drawing.

Can you believe that it’s already May? Winston is all ready for Cinco de Mayo, and we wanted to share a delicious recipe that will be great all summer long!
Portia’s Fruit Salsa:
1 Fuji Apple
1 Pear
2 Apricots
1 Mango
2 Avocados
1/2 or 1 cup of Red Onion
1/2 cup Cilantro
1-2 Lime(s)
1/2 tsp Salt
1 or 1/2 Serrano Pepper
Directions:
Chop all fruits, avocados and red onion into small cubes, and Serrano pepper finely chopped. Add the salt and chopped cilantro. Squeeze lime and mix all ingredients. Taste for seasoning. Add more salt and lime juice, if needed.

There are a variety of foods you should avoid while you’re wearing braces. Some foods can occasionally damage braces, but certain foods can bend the wires or even break the brackets on your braces. If you’re wearing braces, you should avoid starch, sugar and gummy foods, as these foods can be difficult to remove during brushing. Foods that are high in sugar and starch tend to cause plaque, cavities and even tooth decay.
Avoid tough meats, hard breads and raw vegetables such as carrots and celery. Before long, you’ll be able to bite a cucumber again. But you’ll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as you’re wearing braces.
Foods you should avoid include:
• Chewy foods: bagels, hard rolls, licorice
• Crunchy foods: popcorn, ice, chips
• Sticky foods: caramels, gum
• Hard foods: nuts, candy
• Foods you have to bite into: corn on the cob, apples, carrots
Also, chewing on hard things (for example, pens, pencils or fingernails) can damage the braces. Damaged braces will cause treatment to take longer.
